We have been providing design advice to the client for this new nursery in Plummers Plain, Sussex.

The building is to be constructed from prefabricated modular sections by The Qube.

Plumpton College

We have carried out a number of projects on the Plumpton College estate in Sussex. Plumpton College is an agricultural college and attracts students from a wide area. Initially this involved the mechanical design for a new Animal Centre building on the site.

Following on from that, we carried out full MEP design for the school for West Wing. This was for an extensive new student accommodation block connecting onto the side of the existing listed building. The new wing also included a new library facility on the ground floor for the use of the students and staff.

Next we carried out full MEP design for Workshop building. This involved a number of different types of buildings including general classroom areas, a number of vehicle workshops, welding bays and a large bay fitted with 20 forges. The scheme included a biomass boiler which served the Workshop building as well as feeding back into the main building heating system.

Lastly we were involved in a new Winery building. This included a wine store as well as general classroom areas over a two storey new building.

Children’s Centres

We have carried out thermal modelling and Part L compliance calculations on a number of children centres in the Southeast including:

  • Chailey
  • Ringmer
  • Haven
  • Bonner
  • Cradle Hill

Swansea Metropolitan University

We carried out thermal modelling, Part L compliance calculations, overheating and heat loss calculations for the Alexander Road Design Exchange. The project involved modifications to the main existing building and a large glazed extension to the side. The extension featured a structural glazing system which incorporated triple glass with a ventilated gap to the outer pane.

Other

We have carried out Energy Performance Certificates at Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar School Sixth Form Centre, and Skinners Sports Hall, also in Tunbridge Wells.

We have been involved over the years in many education facilities from nursery right through to further education sites. These have included both private and state funded facilities.
